a new chapter begins (dot)(dot)(dot)
apologies firstly for the overly navy nuanced previous post. guess those not in the know might not know what i'm blabbering about. just overdoing the reminiscing part. =p
its my OFF day today and its my 3rd week into the new job. started work 4 days after i ORDed on Children's Day. so far so good i might say, not much adjustments made to settle in, just probably the usual cashier stuff cos i've not been taught that in my previous retail jobs - cos previously i was a part-timer, and my job is to pose, look good, and provide service with a smile - and the occasional curses behind it. heh. but now, with great powers, comes great responsibility. sorry, the spiderman2 quote just came into mind, lame i know... lolz
yea, for those who have the privilege of having my msn, i've been proudly broadcasting my new job as a "friendly ladies' shoes salesman in town" these few weeks. actually have previous experience in selling ladies' shoes in my poly days, will reminisce from time to time days in Kenneth Cole at Wisma, working with my long lost poly mate Chelsea, and my openly gay supervisor and his friends who will drop by time to time - nice people to talk with. and my other poly mates, Charlton, Thomas, Desiree, Martin, Gabriel who will wait for me to knock off then hang out at around Orchard, a fav spot then was the Sky Garden at the Shaw Lido building, when u can peer over the ledge high up and look at the sounds n sights around. damn cool i tell ya.
the new job (well, actually wouldnt wanna reveal where it is, sense of mysticism eh?) place is kinda located beside a coffee place, where pple next door could actually see you working while casually sipping their java. well, i suppose the gawking is mutual as i would blank stare at them just for the fun of it. targeted at a specific clientele (namely, ladies/girls with lotsa dough to splurge on heels, wedges, espadrilles, ballerinas, peekaboos, mary janes, sandals, boots, sneakers that costs a few pairs of your regular shoes chainstores like C&K add together.
have made a list of the kind of customers that i've had the privilege or hell of a time serving -
- tai-tais who are humble and friendly
- tai-tais whom you wanna strangle them
- tai-tais's daughters who are humble and friendly
- tai-tais's daughters whom you wanna strangle them together with their mothers who spoilt them badly
- working class ladies' who have the poise and class
- working class ladies' who have the poise but no class
- celebs - though i dont understand the logic of wearing shades in a sheltered a/c shopping mall and NOT attracting any attention from passerbys - but so far those i've met or served, are cool.
sure i'll probably interact with more members of the opposite gender in a day then the average joe, but im real professional about it. one thing i really enjoyed serving people and making their day, like what i would expect service dished out to me. and in the words of my colleague syahril "you're here to work, and not be a chee kor pek" - that really cracks me up when i first heard it.
another thing is that im always been fascinated by shoes (which explains the towering boxes in the corner of my room) my as much as i love sneakers, ladies shoes are so much more. designs, materials, styles, so multi dimensioned/faceted the ways you can put them together.
right... been ranting off too much.. my mind's wandering off again. haha. till then - cya!

That I shall say 'Good night' till it be morrow.
